Rick Whitehead - Hey Mama download free

Rick Whitehead is the alias for DJ Tony Prince. Chris Ife produced the session. Micky Anthony and Alan Price were in the session. The track was originally by Pugh Rogefeld a Sweidish musician. Prince came across the track during a radio 208 tour of Sweden, loved what he heard and translated it into this English version. Tony's real name is Thomas Richard Whitehead. It was decided to use Rick Whitehead so that other DJs might play it on Radio One (which they probably would't have done had they known this was a Radio Luxembourg DJ). Tony sang with a group in Lancashire called The Jasons (60-62) and later the Johnny Francis Orchestra in Oldham and the Top Rank Bristol (63-65) before joining the pirate ship Radio Caroline (65-67). This is not a reggae record - it was released on Horse the subsidiary of Trojan. Prince published and edited Mixmag when launching DMC which has promoted the World DJ Championships now in it's fourth decade (dmcworld.com).
